Shea Butter (Unrefined) 100gm

$12.95

100% PURE UNREFINED SHEA BUTTER (HMP)

AWO’s High Melting Point Shea Butter (Unrefined) is a premium grade of Shea Butter that exhibits a higher-than-normal melting point. Typically, Shea Butter is solid at room temperature but softens when warmed on contact with skin (31º-38ºC), however this grade requires a higher level of heat (40º-45ºC) to achieve the melting point. This makes it ideal for applications where thermal stability is desired or a high percentage of Shea Butter is used, plus it reduces the grainy fractionation that can commonly occur in formulations using regular shea butter when exposed to changing or warmer temperatues.

Obtained from the Shea-Karite Tree (or Shea Tree) which is native to Western Africa, Shea butter has been used in traditional African skin & hair care for generations due to its vast benefits. Naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F, Shea Butter also has a high fat content, making it a fantastic moisturiser for dry and ageing skin, and is commonly used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema and blemishes.

Shea Butter is incredibly versatile, offering the ability to create luxurious and nourishing personal care products. Known for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, once formulated it may help soothe irritated skin, reduce redness and promote the natural healing process. As an industry favourite, it is commonly used in a vast range of applications ranging from Lip balms, Body masks, Creams, Lotions, Body butters, Hair care products, Liquid and Bar Soaps, Bath oils, Suncare products, Baby products, and the list goes on.

Unlike many Shea Butters that are solvent extracted, AWO's High melting point Shea Butter is cold pressed using a traditional hand extraction method. It is also not melted down while packaging, but rather is carved straight from the block, avoiding any unnecessary heating.
